Drawing and painting the human figure is an on-going workshop designed to challenge the student to progress in their own development of understanding of the figure.

Beginners may choose to draw, while more advanced students will explore monochromatic and limited palette of the long poses.

Each session will begin with warm-up drawings of short poses of the live model. The 2 hour pose may be repeated for a number of sessions for students to achieve a more finished painting.

Hal will demonstrate quick methods
First: how to draw the model using the axis and rhythm of the pose,
Second: blocking in the shadows and mid tones
Third: adding lights and stronger darks
and modeling the form.

All levels as well as oil or acrylic are welcome.

This is a Classical Bones class with a contemporary edge. Hal will encourage you to follow that "break the rules whisper" we all hear but are afraid to follow.
